Short CV
Dr. Jelena Zagorac, Associate Research Professor / Senior Research Associate.
In 2003 obtained her B.Sc. Degree in Crystallography at the Department for Mineralogy and Crystallography of the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade, Serbia. Employed since 2005 at the Department of Materials Science of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences. In 2007 she attended specialization under the supervision of Prof. Dr Volker Kahlenberg at the Institute of Mineralogy and Petrography, University of Innsbruck, Austria. In 2008: attended specialization under the supervision of Prof. Dr Jörn Kruhl at the Department of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Munich, Germany. She obtained her M.Sc. degree in Crystallography at the Department for Mineralogy and Crystallography of the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in the year 2011. In the following two years (2012 and 2013) she attended specialization under the supervision of Prof. Dr Martin Jansen at the Department for Inorganic Solid State Chemistry of the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Stuttgart, Germany, and specialization under the supervision of Prof. Dr Dirk Zahn in Theoretical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erlangen, Germany. In 2014 she obtained a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Niš, Serbia (Ph.D. Thesis: Structural characterization of the yttrium doped CaMnO3 nanopowders and theoretical modeling of the perovskite structure stability). Since 2015 she has been a member of the CEXTREME LAB Laboratory for Theoretical Investigation of Materials (L-TIM). She is engaged in research related to structural characterization and Rietveld refinement of X-ray powder diffraction data; structure prediction using data mining and exploring of the energy landscapes methods; ab initio optimization and theoretical modeling of mechanical, electronic, and other properties of materials; investigation of phase transitions and changes in the material properties at the high-pressure regime. She has published more than 100 scientific papers, out of which 60 papers are from the SCI journal list. Her publications are cited more than 1100 times (h-index = 17).
