Msc Milan Pejic

MilanPejicMSc Milan Pejić, Research Assistant. Milan Pejić is a final-year doctoral student in the Department of Condensed Matter Physics and Statistical Physics at the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade, Serbia, under the mentorship of Dr. rer. nat. Dejan Zagorac. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Theoretical and Experimental Physics from the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade, as well as Master’s degree in International Economics from the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. He also has seven years of professional experience in data analysis, software development, computer science and systems administration.

Since 2019, Milan has been a member of the Laboratory for Theoretical Investigation of Materials (L-TIM) at the Center for Synthesis, Processing, and Characterization for Application in Extreme Conditions (CEXTREME LAB), and since 2021, he has been employed at the Department of Materials Science at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences “Vinča”, University of Belgrade, Serbia.

In 2020, his Horizon 2020 project “Energy Landscapes of Rare-Earth Compounds Containing Several Different Anions” was approved under the HPC-Europa3 programme (Transnational Access Programme for a Pan-European Network of HPC Research Infrastructures and Laboratories for Scientific Computing Programme: H2020, Call: INFRAIA-2016-1, Type of Action: RIA, Grant Agreement Number: 730897). This project facilitated collaboration with the High-Performance Computing Center (HLRS) in Stuttgart, Germany.

Milan’s primary research interests lie in the theoretical investigation of the structure and properties of novel materials, energy landscapes exploration, prediction of new (meta)stable modifications of existing materials, and ab initio modeling of their electronic, mechanical, magnetic, and other properties.

Milan has published 15 scientific papers, including 10 in the SCI list journals, along with numerous papers in international conference proceedings.
